Sanja Marković was born in Hamburg in February 2002. From an early age, she found herself questioning the structures and expectations that shape society and the way we perceive ourselves within it. This curiosity would later become an important part of her artistic practice.

After completing school, she studied Interior Design, developing a strong sensitivity for composition, proportion, materials, texture, and atmosphere. Her fascination with spaces and the emotions they can evoke became a defining part of her creative perspective. Yet, during her professional work as an Interior Designer, she increasingly realized that something was missing. While she valued the discipline and precision of spatial design, she longed for the freedom to create without functional boundaries and for the opportunity to create something that felt truly meaningful.

Today, her work brings together her fascination with materiality, composition, and human emotion. Through her art, she explores the inner conflicts, insecurities, and questions that exist within many of us, but are often left unexamined. It´s ultimately an invitation to look inward, question what holds us back, and find the courage to follow our own path. It is about moving beyond insecurity, embracing individuality, and allowing ourselves to grow beyond the limitations we have placed upon ourselves.

Yet, during her professional work as an Interior Designer, she increasingly realized that something was missing. While she valued the discipline and precision of spatial design, she longed for the freedom to create without functional boundaries and for the opportunity to create something that felt truly meaningful. At the beginning of 2026, she decided to turn her life around and pursue her own path. She began teaching herself how to paint realistically, studying the human body and its proportions, colour theory, and the characteristics of different materials. Through intensive exploration and practice, she quickly developed a distinctive visual language of her own.
